AGM

The Pipes in the Peaks museum in Dovedale Garage, at Thorpe near Ashbourne in Derbyshire welcomed members of the F.O.P.S. on the 28th March 2009 for our Annual General Meeting.

The museum houses a Compton Cinema organ and a large collection  of automotive memorabilia, which made a very interesting venue for the AGM.

Organist Christian Cartwright gave fabulous performances on the Compton and made use of all the peripheral instruments linked to the console, some of which are very unusual, like tweeting birds and a cello!

The meeting, attended by about 100 members, was called to order at 2 pm by Chairman Peter Haywood who then proceeded to follow the usual sequence of items, with which we have all become familiar!

Tony Harrison stood down after his three year Presidency, with Richard Preston (Prestons of Potto, fame) taking over the post.

The meeting was closed at about 2:45.

The next FOPS AGM will be held in March 2010 at Salomons in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.
