Post subject:  Major Fairorgan Event in West Yorkshire

On Sunday 1st May and Monday 2nd May 2011, Castleford Lions in association with the FOPS are organising an event in Castleford, West Yorkshire.

The Lions had arranged a collection for 'Help For Heroes' and contacted FOPS Chairman Peter Haywood and Archivist Russell Wattam if it would be possible to make a larger event for the public.

Some impressive instruments are attending:

89 Key Trumpet Gavioli (Hunt)
89 Key Pierre Eich (Reid)
105 Key Decap (Thompson)
47 Key Marenghi (Wichall)
46 Key Carl Frei (Selwyn)
52 Key Loopstra (Greaves)
51 Key Jan Van Eich (Threapleton)
52 Key Leach (Davison)

Hand-turned organs will also be in attendance.

Tony Harrison will be bringing the FOPS sales stand to promote the society and there will be a demonstration of music book punching.

Oops - I originally said Saturday the 1st and Sunday the 2nd May...the dates were correct, but the days were not...it should have been Sunday and Monday!

The event opens today and tomorrow.
