Hi all!

At the FOPS AGM in March 2011 at the Black Country Museum, Nicholas Simons suggested that I add a page on the FOPS website with links to good quality recordings of good quality organs.

On Nick Marler's "Fair Organ Talk" Facebook page, Michael Morris suggested that I ask for nominations from you, the enthusiasts, for your favourite video clips for possible inclusion in a new FOPS website page.

The idea is to promote Fair Organ Preservation to a wider audience using social media, but the emphasis is on GOOD QUALITY video's and organs.

I must add this is not a competition, I am not 'judging' your nominations, I am simply asking you to submit links to what you think are the best quality video clips of organs...again with the emphasis on GOOD QUALITY :smile2:

I appreciate the choice of video's are subjective, but I am sure you will send me a good selection!

do you really think that its a good idea Dave? in my view the people of the fair organ world are always at battle with each other with endless silly arguments about which organ is the best etc. I can only imagine that this will cause one of those arguments so maybe it is best not to have a page like that. I think people can find their own on youtube anyway with out nominating videos. It could end in bitterness and upset I think.

By the way I have just uploaded a very different kind of fairground organ video to youtube all about caring for fair organ figures. Peter Clousten has most kindly let me borrow one of the huge carved figures from his 52 Key Verbeek Street organ so I thought I would use it for my video. Here it is for those organ owners who neglect the figures on their instruments and don't wash them down enough:

Hi Robert.

I know this going to open a 'can-of-worms', but I am sure there are some good recordings out there, so we will see what the response is.

Also all the videos on the channel " Totallyfairorgans" were made by me and are partly owned by me too. The channel is now kindly run and maintained by David Aldridge but the videos were made by me last year. Here is the channel...the videos are of the greatest quality and are in HD: http://www.youtube.com/totallyfairorgans

There are also some videos of the Clousten 52 Key Verbeek Street organ on my other channel too:
