Post subject:  Petition - Save Historic British Fairground Organs

Dear all

In recent weeks there has been a great deal of discussion among organ enthusiasts surrounding the sale of two of Britain’s most historic and renowned fairground organs on the open market, namely Neil Corner’s ex White’s 98 key Gavioli and Bill Hunt’s 98 key Chiappa ‘Wonderland’. Many enthusiasts have voiced their concerns over the future of these and other historic fairground organs in Britain.

Therefore, we feel it is now more important than ever to try and unite to voice our concerns over the welfare of our historic fairground organs to the Department of Culture, Media and Sport in a bid to try and establish some official listing status to prevent their exportation to other countries and also to better regulate the restorations of these instruments.

That’s why myself and my friend, Jory Bennett, are calling for anyone who shares our concerns to sign our petition to the Department of Culture, Media and Sport. By signing the petition and uniting in our cause, we stand a better chance of our voices being heard. Please follow the link to the petition to read more about why it’s been created. We would strongly encourage you to forward the link to other people you think may want to sign the petition.
