Post subject:  Places to See Band Organs

I began a search a few nights ago to discover what had become of the Gay Nineties Melody Museum in St Louis. I had visited it in the late 60's and bought some recordings on Audio Fidelity label. I discovered that they had sold out to Disney in the 70's. This was a large collection. I then tried to find museums anywhere in the world. The problem is, there is a lack of a common terminology for these machines making searches difficult. Any help would be appreciated in finding internet sites and actual museums !! Websites showing the inner workings would be even more appreciated. I would expect in France or Austria, UK, Germany ?? We had a very nice Wurlitzer 165 here at Seabreeze but it was destroyed in a fire in 1994. They have another good one but not the same model.

Hi Bob!

There are some links on the FOPS Museums Page.

Also, the FOPS Links Page has links to related sites, some of which contain listings of other sites.

I have some basic technical information on my website, some of which is specifically related to a Dean organ I operate (which belongs to George Houghton). You can view it at: http://www.dsvc.co.uk/fairorgan/fairorganfaq2.html (click on the "Next Page" links to navigate through the pages).

I intend to add some technical information to the FOPS site eventually.
