FOPS 54th Annual General Meeting

The FOPS AGM will be held on Saturday, 24th March 2012, from 10:30 am
at the FOPS President Richard Preston’s home, Highfield House,
Enterpen, Hutton Rudby, near Yarm, North Yorkshire, TS15 0EJ.

Richard has an impressive collection of Fair Organs and Steam Engines, so this is a rare opportunity to visit this private collection.

The FOPS meeting starts at 2pm

The latest update I have for the event is as follows:

As well as the instruments in the collection, there will be several guest organs including;
89 Key Gavioli – N. Corner (ex Tom Nicholson's), 65 Key System Gavioli – A. Guest, 52 Key Griffiths, 51 Key Jan Van Eijk – Martyn Threapleton

Signs will be put out on the day so there will be no problem locating the venue for those who have not been before. There is some limited space for caravan parking on site. There was also some discussion of a brass band playing for 30 minutes before the meeting starts.

Hi Folks.

Every so often the FOPS AGM is held at a venue which almost seems "custom made" for the event and this year's AGM was held at one of those "perfect" venues, Preston's in North Yorkshire.

As you would expect, there was a good turnout with plenty of activity inside and outside the hall containing Preston's collection.

When we arrived, we were greeted by Martyn Threapleton's "My Happy Day" Jan Van Eyk organ.

Hidden away in a large shed was Neil Corner's ex-Tom Nicholson's 89 key Gavioli, with its distinctive soldier and nurses figures:

Hi Dave,the Jan Van Eijk is owned by: Martyn Threapleton not James Reid (as its says Martyn Threapleton on your post at the top on the list of organs from this years AGM).
