I did find the trombone a bit weak though & maybe it could go down in pitch? Maybe it starts at a different note?

When I played the midi file I noticed that the bass (played on the pedal) mainly
used the second octave so the 16' Tuba horn register that I used sounded
like an 8' with only a view notes in the 16' range..

What is the lowest trombone note in a Ruth organ with about 60 keys?

Thanks again Roland I have just Listened to both, Excellent as usual in arrangement and sound.
I have now got the free trial version of Hauptwerk installed and running with the help of Dave and I am experimenting with it at the moment,
but of course I cannot create the Fairorgan sounds that you create.any idea when the new version will be released and the all important question will you be able to help with advice on which voices to use to create the Fairorgan sound ?

Regards
George :tiphat:

Hi George,

The whole Hauptwerk community is waiting for Hauptwerk 4, I hope and think it will be somewhere this year. I used also a reverb program called SIR-2, but in future Hauptwerk
4 will a have build in convolution reverb.

I can send You the combination file and help you but to get the fair organ
sound you really need the 3/20 Wurlitzer since it has a Trumpet..
Soon there will be a 3/30 available which has two trumpets, I'm waiting for this one.

There are more theatre organs available but most of them are really
expensive, and mostly mono recorded. The POW series are in stereo
and have sampled tremolo's (in case you want to play it as a theatre organ).
The 3/20 has also Tierce and Quint couplers so it is even possible to have
that good old Blackpool Tower Ballroom sound!

Here are some examples of the 3/20 with it's real theatre sound:

Played by Pierre Fracalanza, Camelot:

Played by Pierre Fracalanza, Jalousie:

Played by Pierre Fracalanza, Do You Know What It Means:

Best regards.

Hi Roland.

What screen size do you need to display the Paramount console, because it is so big, it won't fit on my PC screen! :smile2:

It produces a fabulous sound though!

I believe the Paramount organs have a screen resolution of 1280x1024.
Wich was to large for my small MacBook..

Again (sorry for keeping telling this) better wait for Hauptwerk 4 since it
will have the function to resize the screens.

However, the makers of the Paramout organs where clever enough to
make two screens with stops. One called Button screen and one called
Tab screen. A lot of functions or stops that You can't see in the one
screen are placed at the opposite site in the other screen.. It might work.

Hi Roland.
I have now mastered the basics of Hauptwerk and I am getting some interesting organ sounds using Cakewalk and mid files but of course nothing as good as the Fairorgan sound that you have created.
You did say that you would help me with which tabs I should use to simulate the sound and even without the Trumpet it will sound better than what I get now.
By the way the midi files are fantastic arrangements.

My Email is george@fairorgan.com if you wish to contact me direct.

Kind Regards.
George. :grinder:

I finally found a way to make the free version of this sample-set sounds
like a Fair organ. By re-voicing the English Horn I finally created a trumpet sound..

Another great arrangement Roland.
I think the sound you manage to create is the best possible virtual Fair Organ sound, and must take a lot of time to arrange.
I have not managed to get anywhere near yet but Dave is coming over next week so I am hoping we may have some success then.
Thanks for your posts keep them coming.
One thing that I cannot do is fit the Paromount console image or the Tabs image to my screen so I cannot get the bottom row of stops,I can scroll sideways but not up or down.
Regards
George.

Hi George, thanks for listening!

Many of the stops you can't see in the tab screen are available in the button screen..

Just to give you an update on my progress with Hauptwerk.
Dave came over on Wednesday and we managed to install the new files from Roland onto my system.
As yet we have not managed to get the Fair Organ sound that Roland produces (Maybe I will have to wait for the update Version of Hauptwerk) But I am having great fun experimenting with the sounds that I can now get from the programme so I will keep on trying.
Thanks Roland. :tiphat:
