I know it's slightly off topic but I'm looking for a supplier of new accordion reeds to have a play with, they're not to repair an instrument so the brand is academic. Have any of you knowledgeable people come across such things?

Hello Greg,

The manufacturers such as Hohner & Weltmeister (sold through Sunderlands) will supply reeds but it works out expensive. It would be cheaper to buy an old knackered accordion on ebay & use the reeds from that. Another option is somewhere like Hobgoblin music who specialise in reconditioning old instruments.

I hope this helps.

Cheers,
Rob.

Thanks Rob,
I suspected it would be cheaper to cannibalise an Accordion and have my eye on some on Ebay, but thought it worth asking in case I was missing a cheap source of new ones.
Regards
Greg

Hi Greg
Do you specifically want accordian reeds? I have reeds from (I think) a Harmonium.
Free for collection or pay postage.
