During the week 17 to 23 May 2010 the Swanage Railway will celebrate 125 years since the railway arrived at the Isle of Purbeck, transforming Swanage into an important seaside resort. It still retains this old-world charm. The special day will be 20 May, but throughout this week there will be Victorian-style celebrations, culminating in a Victorian Fair over the weekend 22/23 May. Street organs and fairground organs are invited to perform at many locations, including around the railway and alongside the pier, where it is hoped to have vintage shipping.
