There have been a number of posts in the Sales section of the Forum that have been made by commercial operators, specifically organ builders and dealers.The Forum Sales section is for non-commercial use only. The Forum Rules state:
(A12) The promotion or discussion of products, services or items being sold by a business or trader is allowed on the condition that the promotion or discussion is made by a person who is not associated in any way with the business or trader and is not taking a fee from the business or trader for the promotion or discussion.Which means that a Forum Member could post a message discussing a commercial (business) item or product, on the condition they are not associated with the business.
Private or personal sales are permitted.
The forum is a resource for the enthusiast community, so I introduced rule A12 to allow the free flow of information about commercial products, BUT prevent a manufacturer or supplier from blatently advertising their products on the forum!
Commercial advertising is now available to FOPS members on a separate "Commercial Sales" section. In order to ensure only FOPS members use the section, the member has to be added to a list of Commercial Sales users. Only those members will be allowed to create a new post, other users can only post replies.
