Hi,
Over the years I have built up a model bus collection of mainly corgi routmasters, these are the originals dating from the 1980's.I can still remember the very first two I purchased from a toy stall in Hyde market hall, these were the aero and tdk respectivly.Over the years many variations appeared way too many for me to keep stock of,but the main thing is the price and how it has escalated.I payed the princley sum of £2.99 in the eighties now you can pay upwards of £20,plus there are more manufactures in the game now all in it for what they can get out of it and the poor enthusiast has to suffer the cost.
I can however remember when i was a young lad of eight years old a christmas present that truly fasinated me,it was a push along coach based on a Bedford Duple I think, with headlamps that worked off a simple dynamo process hiden inside the body. Also it had a destination blind that you could manually turn to show five different settings, and the windscreen wipers actually worked. What a toy I wish now I had kept it the money it would have been worth now.If anybody could enlighten me on what model this is I would be gratefull.
