Hello everyone,
Graham Atkinson is very pleased to be able to announce that he has purchased the 78 key Mortier organ (ex Ashorne Hall) from well known organ builder Jonny Ling.
This is one of the earliest Mortier organs to survive and although we are still researching its history we are certain that it pre dates 1912. The facade is absolutely massive and the sound of the organ is very distinctive.
The organ makes a fine addition to the collection and brings the total number of mechanical organs to 15!
The first official playing of the organ will be on Sunday 14th March at our mechanical organ and fairgound model show (see details in 'Organ Events Diary')
Best wishes,
Trevor.
